Udayádityávarman II (1050-1066)


He came young to the throne and his master was Jayendrabandita. Under his reign, numerous uprisings were suppressed by General Sangrama.

Udayádityávarman II commissioned the construcrtion of the Baphuon temple, inside which he erected a linga made of gold. He also commissioned the construction of the Western Baray. In rhe middle of the 8km lon by over 2km wide reservoir, the king erected atemple that is now known as the Western Mebon temple. Amassive bronze of Vismu was excavated from this site, and is now displayed inj the museum.
