Inscription K. 485 tells us that Queen Jayarajadeví
distributed a large share of her wealth to the poor. And, as in art she is
represented in the likeness of the Prájnápáramitá (Ka. 1724), it may be assumed
that this queen was a benefactress.
In the Vessantara Játaka, Madrí, Vessantara’s
wife, like her husband, gives generous alms; she gives her property, her
children and herself to the Jújaka benefactress.
